Early Closing for Staff Training on April 6

On Thursday, April 6, will be closing early at 3pm for staff training. The Research Library and Archives will close at 2:45pm. There will still be a 3pm Wheatland tour. If you have any questions regarding a visit to on this day, please call 717-392-4633. Thank you!

Donate a Piece of History welcomes donations to the collections. All donations must have clear title and fall within the guidelines of our collections policy.

Donations added to our collection usually have a connection with Lancaster County, President James Buchanan or his family, or Thaddeus Stevens and support one of the four collecting departments—Wheatland, library, archives and objects. Contact Patrick Clarke for questions related to President Buchanan,  Marge Bardeen for questions about library donations; Heather Tennies for questions about archive donations, or Wendell Zercher for questions about object donations.

The staff does not give appraisals. The donor must secure independent appraisals for donations if he/she desires to have a donation appraised for income tax purposes.
