Urban Legend: The Untold Story

Who: The Millersville Area Historical Society
What: Presentation
When: Saturday, April 6 at 9am
Where: Millersville University’s Myers Auditorium at McComsey Hall, 43 East Frederick Street, Millersville, PA
Cost: Free and open to the public

The Millersville Area Historical Society (MAHS), in cooperation with Millersville University (MU), invites the public to a special, “repeat” presentation on the making of Urban Legend, a book that tells the story of Lancaster’s most prolific architect, C. Emlen Urban, and his architectural masterpieces in Lancaster. It will be held at 9am on Saturday, April 6, in MU’s Myers Auditorium at McComsey Hall, 43 East Frederick St., Millersville.

MAHS scheduled this talk for MU’s Myers Auditorium to accommodate those people who had been turned away because of an overflow crowd when it was first offered by the society at its usual meeting site in January.  Myers at McComsey will have space for these folks and many other individuals who are interested in hearing the intriguing story of how the book about Urban came about. Parking is available on James Street across from the Lombardo Welcome Center and adjacent to McComsey Hall (campus map: https://www.millersville.edu/directions/).

Gregg Scott, local architect and author of Legend, will be the speaker. In his slide-presentation, titled “Urban Legend: The Untold Story!,” Scott will cover numerous unusual events and discoveries that led him to get serious about producing the book (released last year). People attending will receive a card offering a 20% discount on the purchase of a book.

Admission is free. For more details, contact Phil Gerber at 717-872-8837 before noon or at pge8507@gmail.com.
